Due to an unexpected situation, there is NO 3rd - 5th grade youth football practice in Eureka TODAY.
We are holding Punt, Pass, and Kick today! The 7th & 8th grade students will go out around 10:20 during their PE period to the sports complex. The 1st through 6th grade students will go out at 1:30 PM and participate. Parents are welcome to attend to watch.
The Eureka School District, an equal opportunity employer, is hiring a paraprofessional and an assistant custodian. The paraprofessional is for Monday through Friday, 8:00 - 3:30 during the school year. The assistant custodian position is a 12-month position with the hours of roughly 8:30 - 5:30. during the school year. Summer hours may vary as needed. If interested, please contact Nick Weismantel, Superintendent at 605-284-2875. Applications are due on Friday, September 27th.
If there are any businesses that built a float for the homecoming parade that was canceled today, please email pictures of your float to Nick.Weismantel@k12.sd.us. We will post your float on our Facebook page and show your school pride despite the nasty weather. To be eligible for the contest of the community floats, all pictures must be submitted by 3 pm.
Homecoming Update: Due to the weather, we have cancelled the parade at 1:00 PM. We will park the class floats on the east side of the gym for patrons to look at. We will have a Pep Rally at 1:15 PM in the main gym. Go Thunder!!!
Homecoming Update: We are still hoping that we will be having our parade at 1:00 PM. However, due to the potential rain and getting the information out to parents and staff member as quickly as possible, we are postponing Punt Pass and Kick to next Thursday, September 19th for the 1st - 8th grade students. The cross country meet in Hoven tomorrow has been moved up to an 11:00 AM start time due to the heat. Go Thunder!!
On Monday, the middle school will only play 1 volleyball game in McLaughlin so the schedule is Middle School Volleyball at 5:00; JV 6:30ish, Varsity to follow. Go Thunder!!!
The middle school volleyball games in Wishek tomorrow will be played at the armory starting at 3:30 and the C team game will start at 5:00 at the school. Due to this and there being some overlap of players, the 8th grade game will be first for the middle school games followed by the sixth/seventh grade game. Go Thunder!!

We have a busy couple of days of activities for the North Central Thunder the next two days. Today, come on out to Bowdle at 2:00 PM to watch the Thunder football team take on the Dupree Tigers. Tomorrow, the North Central Volleyball team will be competing in Onida in the YTC Volleyball Tournament starting at 9:00 AM. Also, in Bowdle, we will be hosting the first ever cross country meet at the Bowdle Golf Course starting at 9:00 AM. We hope to see as many as you as possible to cheer on our student-athletes these next couple of days. GO THUNDER!!!
The junior high and junior varsity football game against South Border has moved from Monday, September 2nd to Tuesday, September 3rd in Eureka starting at 5:00 for junior high and 6:00 for junior varsity. In addition, the volleyball games scheduled for Ashley on Tuesday, September 3rd have been moved to Wishek due to a building project in the Ashley School District. Go Thunder!!!
There is a slight change to the volleyball schedule for Thursday in Gettysburg. We will be playing 2 middle school games at 4:30 and 5:30 PM followed by JV at 6:30 and Varsity around 7:45. We will NOT be playing a C game on Thursday. Go Thunder!

It's going to be a SWEET homecoming this year with the theme of "candy." Check out the dress-up days and get into the school spirit! The week of Homecoming kicks off on Monday, September 9 and ends with the Homecoming Football game against the Leola-Frederick Titans at 7:00 pm.
