The bus for the 4th grade basketball games tomorrow in Aberdeen will leave Eureka at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning and will pick up EC around 9:10 AM.

Here is an update on todays schedule of basketball games in Roscoe against Ipswich. In the main gym, we have a High School Girls/Boys doubleheader starting at 4:00 PM. In the auxiliary gym, we have 3 middle school games starting with a 6th grade game at 4:00. There will be a 7th and 8th grade game to follow. Finally, at half-time of the girls jv and boys jv games in the main gym the 2nd-3rd grade boys will be scrimmaging. There are also some fundraisers going on for the Hartung family. Come on out and support the teams in Roscoe today. GO THUNDER!!

Sports Recap: Congratulations the NC Lady Basketball team on their exciting win against the Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines. The JV girls ended in a loss this past Friday, but the Varsity girls went into over time and concluded the game with a victory final score of 70-67. Saturday the GBB JV lost against Langford while the girls Varsity team pulled out another win against Langford. The boys Thunder played Langford on Saturday and ended with a win for the JV team while the boys Varsity ended with a loss.
**Congratulations to the 2nd graders for being the winner of the FCCLA, NHS, and Student Council Food Drive Challenge. Thanks to all who participated to help serve families in need within our community!

Schedule Updates: Today we play 2 middle school games starting at 4:00 PM against Herreid/Selby Area. These are followed by JV boys around 6:30 PM, and Varsity Boys around 8:00 PM. Tomorrow the girls basketball team plays against Herreid/Selby Area at Herreid starting at 6:30 PM with girls jv followed by the girls varsity. On Saturday, we have added a 4th grade boys basketball game in Roscoe at 11:00 AM against Faulkton. The bus will leave Eureka at 9:45 AM and pick up Bowdle at 10:15 AM. The doubleheader basketball games with Langford start at 1:00 PM with girls junior varisty and it is Parent's Night as well. Finally, the game on Monday against South Border will be in Wishek starting at 6:00 PM.

Congratulations to the Varsity Thunder GBB team on their win against Ipswich. The JV girls team and both JV and Varsity boys ended in a loss last evening against Ipswich.
Concession stand workers for the boys basketball game in Eureka for tomorrow, January 19th are Makaylah Jones, Landon Wolf, Cole Neuharth, Sydney Bertsch, Amree Vander Vorst, & Sean Opp. Be there no later than 3:45 PM.

Juniors-ASVAB testing will be made up on Thursday, January 26th. You will report to the high school Social Studies room starting 2nd hour and remain there until the testing is done. You will need your computer and charger. If you have questions, please see Mrs. Weismantel.
Eureka Community Health Services will be sponsoring a Blood Drive tomorrow, January 19th from 12:00 PM – 5:30 PM in the multi-purpose room. If you are considering donating blood and are under the age of 18 a parental/guardian permission form must be completed. Forms may be picked up in the school office. Scholarship/Student Opportunities:
**Life Serve Blood Center – offers many scholarship opportunities to juniors and seniors who host a successful blood drive throughout the year. See Mrs. Mettler for more information.
**FEM Electric will be sponsoring three students for a once in a lifetime trip to Washington, DC. Any juniors and seniors who live in or attend school in the service area of FEM Electric are able to apply. Applications are due January 27, 2023. See Mrs. Mettler for an application.
** February 10 by 4:30 - FEM Electric Cooperative Scholarship – Seniors whose parents are FEM Electric members – See Mrs. Mettler for an application
**March 8, 2023 – Scrubs Camp for high school students at Presentation College in Aberdeen. It is a one-day career exploration event to learn about the health science career cluster by participating in hands-on sessions led by professionals. Registration due by February 23, by 5:00 PM. **March 15 – Horatio Alger Scholarship – Seniors – Application form is online at scholarships@horatioalger.org See Mrs. Mettler for the scholarship criteria.
**March 15 – Coach Russ Morrell Scholarship – must have a minimum of a 3.2 GPA – See Mrs. Mettler
**Deadlines will vary (most due by March 15, 2023) – Sioux Falls Community Foundation – Seniors - Over 150 different scholarship opportunities are available to students who will be attending college this fall – not every scholarship will be available to you. Awards range from $400 – 6,000 per academic year. Application is available at www.sfacf.org
