Good morning. A couple of things for today. If your child is planning to play summer baseball, softball, or tee-ball, please have them bring the forms to the city or the school and we will get them to the city. Also, we have a High School/Middle School Track Meet today starting at 12:00. If anyone would like to help volunteer with working field events, please come out to the track by 11:30 and find Mr. Weismantel.

We believe their is some confusion for who needs to be here on Monday for the 7th-12th grade students. If you have to make up MAP Testing, make-up Semester Tests due to missing Friday or Tuesday, finish any work, tests, or extra credit work, you need to be here on Monday. if you do not fall into one of these groups, you do not need too be here on Monday. However, Monday is a great opportunity for students to work on yearbook, finish shop projects, volunteer to help work the track meet, and work concessions at the track meet so we strongly encourage students who do not need to be here to consider doing one of these things. Have a GREAT weekend.

Come on out to watch the Kindergarten - 6th graders compete in play day today starting at 12:30 PM. There are a few wet areas around the complex so please be aware of that. Come on out and cheer on the kids!

The Eureka School District is aware of a video circulating from the YTC Track Meet held in Eureka on Thursday, April 25th showing North Central student-athletes making disparaging and disrespectful remarks to some student-athletes from the McLaughlin School District. We want to apologize on behalf of the entire North Central Sports cooperative to the McLaughlin School District along with anyone else this video has offended. While these student-athletes are not from the Eureka School District, they are part of the North Central Cooperative and we will be working with the cooperative schools to ensure that these student-athletes understand the severity of their actions and are held accountable. We will also be working with the cooperative schools to educate all the students to understand proper conduct.

The Eureka School District is looking at different potential avenues to start an FFA Program for the 2024 – 2025 school year. The 7th-12th grade students participated in a straw poll and well over 20 students are interested in this opportunity. The district has determined that one of the biggest hurdles for adding FFA to our school district is finding the right person or group of people to lead the program. If you are interested in being an advisor, co-advisor, or just someone who is willing to help get this program started, please reach out to Mr. Weismantel at 284-2875.

The track meet scheduled in Onida on Tuesday, April 16th has been changed to Monday, April 15th. The meet will still start at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 15th in Onida. Go Thunder!
