Even though school may not be in session, students and teachers in the Eureka Public School District are still working hard and doing great things. Look no further than the FCCLA Program to see the great things that are going on.
At the end of June, seven students along with two advisors and some parents went out to Nashville for the National FCCLA Conference. The students were Sydney Bertsch, Makenah Opp, Devan Brockel, Landon Wolf, Erica Ingerson, Jessie Lux, and Alec Maier. The Eureka FCCLA Advisors are Karen Mettler and Francie Ingerson.
While success for these students in FCCLA is the expectation, these students went above and beyond on their projects this year. Makenah Opp, Devan Brockel, Landon Wolf, Erica Ingerson, Jessie Lux, and Alec Maier all received a "Gold" rating on their projects. Sydney Bertsch received a "Silver" Award. They all did a great job representing the Eureka School District in Nashville.
Not only did Landon Wolf and Alec Maier both receive a "Gold" rating on their projects, they both placed at the National Competition. Landon Wolf won 2nd place in the Entrepreneurship division. Alec Maier won the top prize, 1st place in the Promote and Publicize division!! With winning his division, Alec also won a scholarship of free tuition to a small college in Kentucky.
Overall, the Eureka FCCLA Chapter did great things at the National Conference and we at the Eureka School District are proud of all the students and advisors efforts!
