Intubation

On Wednesday, March 26, 2025, four juniors and two sophomores from Eureka High School participated in Scrubs Camp in Aberdeen.  Students who chose to participate are students who have an interest in a healthcare related field of study after high school or who would like to know more about careers in the healthcare industry.  The students participated in twelve different stations throughout the day which included: EMT, nursing, mental health counseling, radiology, pharmacy, surgical lab technician, community healthcare worker, sports medicine, telehealth, and physical therapy.  The students were allowed the chance to learn about the different careers from those currently working in the field as well as information about the educational requirements for the different professions.  The students participated in many hands-on activities including intubation, suture removal, lab analysis, trying to read the prescriptions of doctors, CPR, analyzing X-rays, as well as getting a chance to see equipment used in the different healthcare fields that they had never seen before.  It was a great experience for the students and the staff that participated would like to make this an experience offered annually to our students.
