The Eureka School District is excited to announce that we are joining many other school districts in South Dakota in joining the Farm To School Program. We are doing this program with the goal of providing 100% locally grown and processed beef in our school lunch program.
To help make this possible, the Eureka School District is looking for donations of beef cattle for the 2023-2024 school year. We anticipate needing 2-3 head annually processed at different times throughout the year.
If you are interested in donating to the Eureka School District Local Beef program, please contact Nick Weismantel at 605-284-2875 or nick.weismantel@k12.sd.us.
Monetary donations to this program will be used to offset the cost of processing.
We would like to say "Thank You" to the Tom and Meghan Schnabel family for providing the first cow that was processed at The Meathouse in Andover, South Dakota. We also want to thank the Mark and Elisa Opp family for donating a freezer to store the meat, and the David and Kim Gruebele family for making a monetary donation to help pay for processing.
